Terms of Use
These terms are the agreement between you and NAALAI, run by Prakash K, a sole proprietor trading as “NAALAI”, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. By creating an account or using the NAALAI apps or website you agree to them.
1. Who can use NAALAI
- Schools and teachers, invited by a school administrator.
- Parents and guardians aged 18 or over, for their own children.
- Children only through a parent's account (kid mode) or an account their school creates, with a parent's consent.
2. Your account
- Give true details and keep your sign-in codes and PIN to yourself.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at once at [email protected] if you think someone else has used it.
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app.
3. Rules for schools and teachers
- Only post to the classes and sections you are assigned to.
- Only share student information your school is allowed to share, and only for school purposes.
- Do not post advertising, political or religious campaigning, or anything harmful, hateful or unlawful.
- Do not upload files with viruses or macros, or links to harmful or unrelated sites. NAALAI checks every file and link and may block them.
- Do not post photos of children unless it is needed for the school task and allowed by your school.
4. Rules for parents
- Use NAALAI only for your own children.
- Hand in only your child's own work, and only files needed for the task.
- Do not copy or share other children's information or work.
5. Subscriptions and payments
- Free trial: new families get a 7-day free trial with all features.
- Plans: after the trial, a family subscription is needed. Prices are shown in the app before you buy and include GST.
- How you pay: subscriptions are bought and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, under their terms. NAALAI never sees your card, UPI or bank details.
- Renewal: subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds: refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies. Contact them first; we will help where we can.
- After the trial or a lapsed payment: the family account is locked until payment is confirmed. Pricing, billing and support stay available.
- School plans: when a school pays for its families, the school's agreement with NAALAI applies instead of this section.
- We will tell you in advance before any price change applies to you.
6. Who owns the content
- Schools and teachers own what they post. Students and parents own the work they hand in.
- You give NAALAI permission to store, process and show that content to the right people, only to run the service.
- The NAALAI name, logo, Kuru mascot, app design and software belong to NAALAI.
7. Consent forms and electronic signatures
- When you sign a school form in NAALAI, your drawn signature together with a one-time code sent to your registered mobile or email, and the record of time and device, is your electronic signature for that form. You agree it has the same effect as signing on paper, as allowed by the Information Technology Act, 2000.
- A signed copy with an audit record (who signed, when, the verification used and a fingerprint of the document) is kept for the school, and you can download it.
- If a school marks a form as needing a legal-grade signature, you will be asked to sign with Aadhaar eSign through a licensed provider instead.
8. Safety and availability
- We work to keep NAALAI running and secure, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted or free of errors.
- NAALAI shows what the school has posted. Always follow the school's official instructions if there is any difference.
- We may suspend accounts that break these terms or put other users at risk.
9. Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, NAALAI is not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid NAALAI in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using NAALAI and delete your account at any time. We handle your data after that as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Chennai have jurisdiction. Please contact us first at [email protected]; most problems can be solved quickly.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. We change the version and date above and tell you in the app about important changes before they apply.
