How it works

From the classroom to home, in three steps.

The teacher posts once, every parent sees one clear list, and the school knows who is in.

  1. The teacher posts once.

Ms Priya writes tomorrow’s homework, things to bring and forms to sign, and sends it to Class 4B only.

The teacher writing tomorrow’s post for one class
  2. Every parent sees one clear list.

At home, Amma sees exactly what Arun needs to do, bring, sign and know, in English or Tamil.

A parent’s list for tomorrow: do, bring, sign and know
  3. The school knows who is in.

Everyone is present by default, so the teacher taps only the exceptions. After a 10-minute undo window, parents of absent or late children get an alert.

What is inside

Everything the school day needs. Nothing it doesn’t.

Naalai ERP covers attendance, alerts and the school’s messages. It does not collect fees, so it sits happily next to the system you already use for accounts.

Attendance

  • One tap per class; everyone is present by default
  • Late marks with the arrival time
  • The register locks in the evening; changes need the office and a reason

Alerts to parents

  • Absent and late alerts by app, free for parents
  • WhatsApp alerts for families who opt in
  • A correction message if a mark changes; quiet hours 9 pm to 7 am

Notices and messages

  • To the whole school, a class or chosen parents
  • App only, or app and WhatsApp
  • Principal approval and a reach report for urgent notices

Classes and people

  • Upload one spreadsheet of teachers, classes and subjects
  • One join link per class, shared in the class group
  • Parents join with the number the school already has

Timetable and exams

  • The class timetable on every parent’s phone
  • An exam calendar with clash checks
  • Leave notes from parents, in one place

Registers and the office

  • Monthly registers, class and school reports, exports
  • 80% and 75% attendance warnings
  • Staff, year rollover, office hours and WhatsApp permissions

Coming next  Parent-teacher meeting slots and admission enquiries. No dates are promised yet.

The teacher’s attendance screen: present by default, absent and late marks, and a 10-minute undo

Teachers mark once, in the morning.

Everyone is present by default, so the teacher taps only the children who are absent or late. A 10-minute undo catches mistakes before any parent is told.

  • Works on the teacher’s own phone, in the Naalai app
  • Teachers never pay
A parent’s phone showing: Arun was marked absent today

Parents hear within minutes.

If a child is marked absent or late, the parent gets a short alert on school days. The alert asks for a leave note if the child is away, so the class teacher hears back without a phone call.

  • Absent and late app alerts are free for every parent
  • Family Plus adds the full attendance calendar and percentage
A WhatsApp message from the school about a child’s attendance

WhatsApp, done properly.

Messages go through Meta’s official WhatsApp Business Platform and carry the school’s name. Parents choose to opt in and can send STOP at any time. The school decides who on the staff may send them.

  • WhatsApp notice credits: ₹0.15 a message, in packs from ₹500
  • No personal numbers, no forwarded screenshots

Questions principals ask.

Can Naalai ERP work with our existing ERP?

Yes. Naalai ERP works alongside your current system. It does not collect fees, so your accounts stay where they are. You start from one spreadsheet of teachers, classes and subjects.

How much does Naalai ERP cost?

₹25 per child a year, with a minimum of ₹7,500 a year, before 18% GST. ERP + School Plus is ₹69 per child a year and gives every family Family Plus. WhatsApp notice credits are ₹0.15 a message. Optional setup help is ₹5,000 once.

Is there a free trial?

No. Instead, we show you a demo with your own class names before you decide. The free Naalai Diary (posts, notices, forms, timetable and exams) is always free for any school.

Do parents have to pay for attendance alerts?

No. At a school using Naalai ERP, absent and late app alerts are free for every parent. Family Plus, which parents can choose, adds the full attendance calendar, the percentage and an early warning before the 75% line.

How do WhatsApp messages work?

Messages go through Meta’s official WhatsApp Business Platform and name the school. Parents opt in, and STOP works at any time. Quiet hours run from 9 pm to 7 am, and the school chooses which staff may send.

Who can see a child’s data?

Only the child’s family, their teachers and the school office. Each school is kept separate. There are no ads, no tracking and no selling of data. Parents can download or delete their data.

How long does it take to start?

One day. The office uploads a sheet, teachers get their logins, class teachers share the class link, and parents join. Attendance and tomorrow’s list are live the next morning.
