Working parents: staying close to the school day

When both parents work, school news can slip through the gaps. A few small habits keep you close to your child’s day, even from the office.

Choose one check-in time

Pick a fixed time to look at school updates, such as on the way home or right after dinner. In Naalai, tomorrow’s list for each child is in one place, so the check takes a few minutes instead of a long scroll through chats.

Share the load

  • Decide who checks forms, who packs the bag and who goes to meetings.
  • If grandparents or a helper do the school run, give them the same list. With Family Plus, two helpers can see the checklist, and only that.
  • Keep one family calendar for exams, holidays and school events.

Make the evening count

You don’t need hours. Ten minutes of full attention, with the phone away, asking about the best and hardest part of the day, tells your child that their school life matters to you.

Stay in touch with the teacher

A short, polite note now and then, and going to parent-teacher meetings when you can, builds a good relationship. If something goes wrong later, the teacher already knows you.

Keep important papers easy to find. Save the timetable and key circulars in one place on your phone, or let Naalai keep them for you.

Go easy on yourself

No parent sees everything. Aim for steady and present, not perfect.

Use Sunday to look ahead

Sunday evening is a good time for a short family check. What tests, events and things to bring are coming this week? Fill in the family calendar, buy what is needed, and decide who does what. Family Plus includes a Sunday preview of the school week for exactly this.

When you miss something

Sometimes a form or a costume day will slip past. Don’t let guilt take over. Tell the teacher briefly, fix what you can, and adjust the routine so it is less likely next time.

Calmer evenings start with one list.

Naalai puts tomorrow’s homework, things to bring and forms to sign in one place, free for every family.
